Ho Chi Minh City recorded a trade surplus of $560 million in June 2012, extending the figure to $889 million for the first 6 months of the year, the municipal General Statistics Office (GSO) said.
In June, the city’s export turnover reached $2.709 billion , up 16.4% on month of which local enterprises contributed $1.97 billion or 70.6% of the total export turnover.
In Jan-June, the city’s export turnover is estimated at $13.57 billion, up 5.5% on year.
The city spent $2.147 billion to import goods and services in June 2012, up 1% on month and 1.9% on year of which local enterprises spent $1.556 billion or 71.4% and the foreign-invested companies spent $591 million or 28.6%.
In H1/2012, the city’s import value is estimated at $11.682 billion, up 3.3% on year.
