Vietnamese stocks posted loss today as market sentiment went sour concerning macro economic conditions.
The benchmark VN Index gave up 1.75 points or 0.4% to 431.14. Volume rose 28.9% to 43.84 million shares worth of VND687.3 billion. Put through trading contributed 6.78 million shares worth of VND153.78 billion. We saw 3.03 million HAG shares changed hands at reference price of VND28,800 each.
The market breadth changed negative on the primary bourse where 78 stocks advanced, 159 declined, 78 closed unchanged.
The VN30 lost 3.52 points or 0.69%, to 504.71. Amongst its 30 members, 4 stock rallied, 22 lost and 4 unchanged.
The market opened in the red with 1.3 million shares changed hands, caution remained high. The trading pace was very slow as both two sides did not dare to make any big move. The sluggish trading went on the most of the trading time and the selling pressure rose higher. Market closed near the low of the day and improving liquidity came from aggressive selling, market sentiment went sour.
Duc Long Gia Lai Group Joint Stock Company (DLG) suddenly gained top active positive with 3.96 million shares traded, closing down 4.2% to VND9,200.
Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank or Sacombank (STB) ranked second with 3.3 million shares traded, closing down 2.2% to VND22,300 each.
Sacom Development and Investment Corporation (SAM) came third in volume with 1.99 million shares traded, closing unchanged at VND8,500.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX fell 0.46 point or 0.62% to 73.9. Trading volume improved 5.4% to 25.26 million shares worth VND273.65 billion.
The market breadth turned negative where 80 rallied, 125 declined, 79 closed unmoved and the rest unchanged.
PetroVietnam Construction (PVX), the most active on the measure with 3.4 million shares changed hands, closed down 1.9% to VND10,200.
Sai Gon Thuong Tin Real Estate Joint Stock Company (SCR) coming second in liquidity with 1.9 million shares traded, settling down 2.8% at VND13,900.
VNDirect Securities (VND), ranked third on a trade of 1.5 million units, closing down 0.9% to VND11,700 per share.
